About Me
Jack started flying at a United States Air Force flying club while stationed in Germany during the early 1970’s. He was honorably discharged and returned home before receiving his private pilot certificate. For the next few decades, he flew with friends, did an occasional glider flight, spent his time skiing, climbing, managed to get a degree in mathematics & computer science, worked in IT, and raised two children. Sometime in 2001, Jack was thinking that if he was to get the pilot thing done, he better get started again.
In 2002, he received his private pilot certificate. Over the next several years, Jack completed his instrument rating, commercial pilot certificate (ASEL & AMEL), and flight instructor certificate (CFI, CFII & MEI).

Mountain Flying

If you are new to Colorado you need to understand what is different about flying in our mountains. The air is thin and lift, thrust, and engine power are all reduced. The terrain creates updrafts, downdrafts, and turbulence. You are also in close proximity to the ground.
